Finding Myself Again

Last year was full of overwhelming emotions and lessons, but I truly wouldn’t change a thing. I just graduated high school and successfully finished my first semester in college. With that being said, there were so many ups and downs that taught me many life lessons I would love to share with you. I started 2023 lost and not in touch with my positive energy. I was seeking validation in superficial people and lost myself without realizing it. I started placing value on appearances and social status rather than character and genuine connections. At the time, I couldn’t understand why I was so unhappy. I stopped looking at the world with deep inspiration and love because I was so caught up in surface level issues. I had lost the one part of my self I valued most, my energy. It took me the whole summer and a completely new environment to grow out of this toxic mindset I had adopted from my surroundings in high school. However, after what felt like an eternity of hurt and self reflection, I started to find myself again. I regained my perspective and found purpose in uplifting others. When I went to college, I was able to embrace my energy and I met the most genuine and amazing people. I started caring less about how my life looked on camera and more about how it felt. I started to fall back in love with life and I started surrounding myself with people who shared this love and excitement. With that being said, it’s okay to grow out of an environment and let go of toxic relationships. In addition, learn to surround yourself with people who will uplift you and match your positive energy not deplete it. Finally, learn that every situation is temporary and if you feel lost you will eventually find yourself again. Although I went through many rough patches last year, I wouldn’t change a thing because I learned to embrace my energy and now I hope to inspire others to do the same.
